North Korea is looking for “complete denuclearization” of the Korean Peninsula and will not try to impose conditions such as the removal of U.S. troops from the area, according to South Korean President Moon Jae-in.
Speaking to reporters today, Moon insisted the “big picture” agreements between the two Koreas and the U.S. won’t be difficult to agree upon ahead of a summit expected in the coming weeks. “North Korea is expressing a will for a complete denuclearization,” Moon told reporters. “They have not attached any conditions that the U.S. cannot accept, such as the withdrawal of American troops from South Korea. All they are expressing is the end of hostile policies against North Korea, followed by a guarantee of security.” South Korea confirmed Wednesday that it was seeking to bring an official end to six decades of hostility between the South and the North. I’ll believe it when I see it.
North Korea led the U.S. down the garden path once before when they promised to give up their nuke ambitions back in the 1990’s. Without total verification – i.e. nothing is off limits at any time for unannounced inspections – any agreement is useless as it’s guaranteed to be cheated on by the Norks.
Bushes, Clinton and Obama were weaklings. North Korea saw that clearly and see that with Trump the US has finally gotten a real President with no fooling around.
