A large mob of pro-Palestinian protesters gathered outside a Jewish-owned restaurant in Philadelphia over the weekend in what Penn. Governor Josh Shapiro is calling a “blatant act of antisemitism.”

“A restaurant was targeted and mobbed because its owner is Jewish and Israeli. This hate and bigotry is reminiscent of a dark time in history.”

Watch the clip below and above:

From The New York Post:

The Philadelphia chain is owned by Mike Solomonov, an Israeli-born citizen raised in Pittsburgh, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Shapiro said he has “communicated” with Solomonov following the terrifying scene, saying he and his wife Lori “look forward to breaking bread there with them again soon.”

Other Pennsylvania politicians joined Shapiro in calling out the group’s antisemitic chants.

“I can’t believe I even have to say this but targeting businesses simply because they’re Jewish-owned is despicable. Philadelphia stands against this sort of harassment and hate,” Rep. Brendan Boyle posted on X.

“I support freedom of speech but harassing business owners simply because they are Jewish is unacceptable and deeply anti-Semitic,” Center City’s incumbent Rep. Ben Waxman added.

The scene at the Philly eatery unfolded just hours after a similar antisemitic gathering at the University of Pennsylvania.

  1. Biden: “Only A Two-Shop Solution Can Break Cycle of Violence Between Jewish Falafel Shop Owner and Pro-Hamas Mob
Upon learning that a Pro-Hamas mob gathered outside Goldie’s – a jewish-owned falafel shop – in Philadelphia over the weekend and spewed forth hate-filled threats at the owner, President Biden on Monday issued a statement saying: “Ultimately, a two-shop solution is the only way to break the cycle of violence between the pro-Hamas mob and Goldie’s Falafel shop.”
“The falafel shop should be divided equaly into two halves,” the statement went on to say. “The Jewish half will retain the name ‘Goldie’s’, and the pro-Hamas half will be called the United Falafel Shop Of Hamas.”
“A two-shop solution,” the statement concluded, “will enable Goldie’s and the Hamas mob to cook their mediterranean delicacies in peace and security, while allowing Goldie’s customers and the Pro-Hamas mob customers to consume their food with a feeling of tranquility and complete satiety.”

  2. And the response from the Jewish governor is, cheap talk with no action. The federal government response is, we need to stop islamophobia. Reality is, the Democrat party in particular is no friend of the Jews. They show up to campaign and disappear. Republicans are slightly better. They might actually arrest and prosecute some of the mob.
