A tweet published by The Daily Telegraph’s Middle East correspondent on Thursday revealed the lengths the Israeli military went to in order to not harm Palestinian civilians during the surge of violence in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip earlier this week.

“We got a sense of how careful Israel was to avoid civilian casualties during the airstrikes in #Gaza,” Raf Sanchez wrote. “The Israeli army called one guy we met and spent 45 mins on the phone with him, getting him to evacuate his neighbours, before they blew up a Hamas media building next to his.”

Hamas are super paranoid after the Israeli commando raid and are looking for collaborators. We went through lots of new checkpoints. There was much more scrutiny of foreign journalists and they searched our bags on the way out.

Last Monday and Tuesday, Hamas and other terror groups launched more than 400 rockets from Gaza into southern Israel, and the IDF responded with strikes on dozens of terror sites in the coastal enclave.

Early Tuesday evening, an Egyptian-mediated ceasefire went into effect, and has held since.

  1. Oh how true Chazal’s motto “One who’s merciful to the cruel, is cruel to the merciful”. While the IDF fight Arab terrorists who murder innocent civilians with hands tied to their backs, they’re extremely brutal and violent towards chareidim at their rallies; mounted police trample chareidim with horses, kick and punch them, spray them with skunk spray and blue filthy water and beat unarmed chareidim viciously. They’re a shame to Israel and a disgrace to humanity.

    • I find many Zionists can quote Tanach better than most Yeshiva bochurim. The problem is, they don’t understand what the words truly mean because they have no mesorah, R”L.

    • And I suppose the chareidim are totally undeserving of this so called police “brutality” when they block roads, overturn buses, attack frum soldiers and set dumpsters on fire?

      • Assuming you are right (which you are not because you don’t post the whole truth) do Arab terrorists who murder Israeli citizens deserve better treatment?

    • If anyone would make in NYC that type of riots that the “Kanaim” are doing in Yerushalayim, there would definitely be casualties. Just look at the pictures of any riots around the globe and you will figure that no police force is more restrained in their response than the Israeli Mishtara.

      • Chareidim’s protest are ALWAYS peaceful. It’s the police and provocateurs send by the police who bring on the casualties. There are plenty of documents and pictures to prove it. But with a heart full of hate towards chareidim, you will forever remain bias and nothing that anyone would tell you will can change your bigotry.

    • If the situation was as dire as some here allege, they should move to a neighboring country.

But they don’t do that, as in reality they have it quite well.

Police do what they need to do to clear roads, etc.

A right to protest doesn’t mean that people can do whatever they wish.

  2. I think I will move to Gaza. It is the safest place to live. You will never be harmed by those Israelis because they will always let you know in advance when and what they plan to bomb.
