TERROR: 3 Wounded, 1 In Serious Condition In Shooting At School Bus, Vehicle In West Bank

Terror gunfire erupted on Thursday morning, causing injury to three people in the vicinity of Al-Auja, an Arab village under the Palestinian Authority, located in the Yericho area. The shots were directed at a bulletproof bus carrying students and two accompanying cars.

Initial accounts indicated severe injuries to one person’s extremities, while two others sustained minor wounds from shrapnel. Subsequent updates clarified that three individuals were hurt, with one in critical condition.

According to Magen David Adom (MDA), a 30-year-old man sustained severe injuries, while a young man and a 13-year-old boy suffered minor wounds.

Despite the attack, the bus continued its journey until it reached Kibbutz Na’aran, where it rendezvoused with emergency responders who provided aid to the injured parties.

Authorities suspect the assailant lay in wait, launching the assault on the vehicles before swiftly fleeing the scene.

Security personnel have initiated a search for the perpetrators responsible for the assault. Route 90 has been sealed off for southbound traffic from Na’aran as part of the response efforts.

An Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson issued a statement, initially confirming reports of a shooting incident near Al-Auja on Route 90, promising further updates.

A subsequent communication stated, “Following the preliminary report, an assailant targeted several vehicles near Al-Auja. IDF units have been deployed, cordoning off the area and actively pursuing the perpetrator.”

The Jordan Valley Regional Council issued a statement regarding the incident, confirming three casualties from gunfire along Route 90 near Al-Auja. The targeted vehicles included a fortified school bus and private cars. Security measures are in place, with educational staff prepared to receive students safely at schools within the region.
