Seven Border Police officers were wounded this afternoon in a car-ramming attack in the flashpoint East Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah, Ynet reports.
The attacker was shot dead at the scene.
Two of the officers were moderately hurt while the rest sustained minor injuries. All were taken to hospitals in the capital. One of the officers was hit by friendly fire.
Skirmishes erupted between police and Arab civilians at the scene and officers fired two stun grenades. Police have closed the scene and were not letting civilians come near.
Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai later arrived at the scene of the attack.
