Thousands gathered late Wednesday night in the massive Belzer bais medrash in Yerushalayim for a stirring Selichos gathering attended by the former Rishon L’Tzion, Rav Yitzchok Yosef, and Rav Yitzchok Dovid Grossman, rov of Migdal Ha’emek.
The two rabbonim stood alongside one another for the special recitation of Selichos, which was conducted according to the nusach of Edot HaMizrach.
The Selichos featured the participation of the Belzer Rebbe.
Rav Grossman, the rov of Migdal HaEmek and nosi of the Migdal Ohr institutions, joined Rav Yosef for the late-night gathering as the enormous Belzer bais medrash filled with thousands of chassidim.
The gathering took place during the days leading toward the Yomim Noraim, as the atmosphere of Elul and the approaching Yemei Harachamim V’Haselichos intensifies.
The sight of Rav Yosef and Rav Grossman participating together added a particularly powerful dimension to the occasion, bringing together Torah leaders representing different communities and traditions.
With thousands filling virtually every available section of the vast bais medrash, the emotional recitation of Selichos created an extraordinary scene of tefillah, achdus and hischazkus.
