  1. oy! BD”E I’m so so sad and sorry for these families…. It is also frightening to hear his voice over the communications with the FAA. He was so controlled… he was probably panicking inside. But if he was only a mile from the airport; isnt there a way of making an emergency landing route. If he did indeed fly into trees he mustve out of panick or misguidance flown very low. Devastating!

    • Yes of course there is. I did not listen to the audio, and there will be an investigation, however I saw a photo which seems to imply they crashed into a tree. It was night and bad visibility so I imagine that tragically they did not see the tree until the last moment and having no engine they were committed to landing. The landing lights only help that much when we have no engine and very limited maneuvering available. Also, I don’t know if there was wind. They could have attempted landing on a road, and I would imagine they did not see it because there was not enough car traffic. There will be an investigation and we all will be able to read the conclusions. For now, BDE and perhaps if someone would confirm the plane was rented – please let’s be very careful, all planes do the mandatory maintenance and inspections but some places are way more careful than other. Especially if we plan to fly at night, in bad weather forecast, or on uneven terrain.

  2. BDE! Boruch was a heart of gold always warm and inviting a pleasure to everyone who met him he made a great contribution to our world and we feel the big void, it hurts, may Hashem give the family the strength to continue in his big footsteps and we should only hear good news with the coming of moshiach and techias hameisim quickly!
