7:40 p.m. IDT/12:40 p.m. EST [Levaya update below.]: A tragic accident in Yerushalayim this afternoon has taken the life of habochur Yisroel Rosenblum, a 20-year-old American bochur who was a talmid at Yeshivas Mir-Yerushalayim. The accident took place on Rechov Haturim, at the corner of Rechov Rashi in the Mekor Boruch section of Yerushalayim, when a cement mixer truck hit Yisroel, who was riding a motorbike.
Ichud Hatzolah arrived at the scene and treated Yisroel, who was bleeding profusely. He was taken to Hadassah Hospital, where he was placed, unconscious, on a respirator. He subsequently passed away from his wounds.
Yisroel is a son of Rabbi and Mrs. Moshe and Maita Rosenblum of Flatbush. Reb Moshe, a talmid of Rav Shlomo Wolbe zt”l, is one of the editors of the Shottenstein Shas published by ArtScroll. Mrs. Maita Rosenblum has worked for many years at the Mirrer Yeshiva of Flatbush. Yisroel is a grandson of Rav Shraga Moshe Kalmanowitz zt”l, rosh yeshiva of the Mirrer Yeshiva, and a great-grandson of Rav Avrohom Kalmanowitz zt”l, founding rosh yeshiva of the Mirrer Yeshiva. He is also a nephew of Israeli Justice Minister Yaakov Neeman.
Rabbi and Mrs. Rosenblum are traveling to Eretz Yisroel for the levaya, which is expected to be held tomorrow in Yerushalayim.
Yehi zichro boruch.
Update: The levaya will be held at 10:30 p.m. tonight in front of Yeshivas Mir-Yerushalayim.

Baruch hdayan ha emmett.
The U.S. State Department has a warning out to all travelers about the dangerous drivers in Israel.
Motorcycle driving is dangerous all over. There is a reason why motorcyclists are referred to as “organ donors”.

#6 you are strange.
Being related to Yakov Neeman is honorable, would you have felt better if there was a sentence–mechitza in between the names.
he waz a tzaddik he was a korbon 4 our dor
why is it that people like “#6” aren’t able to use their brains to filter out the stupidity?
-the answer is clear…
*6 I am disgusted with your comment – please apologise

I agree with #6 we should not put them together good job # 6

Lets at least learn soetning from this tragedy: Perhaps its time for parents to stop letting their kids drive around Israel on Tus-tuses – they are deathly! There is a reason that insurance for them costs almost more than the vehicle itself!!!

I was looking forward to seeing you again. This is a horrible thing to have happened to you. I hope if you are reading this that you know how sad I am that you are gone. Please put in a good word upstairs for me…. I could really use it.
Didn’t know him well, but I know enough to know he was a really nice guy, and pretty funny. Good hearts lost are always sad.
