Tragic: Four Soldiers Killed In Battle In Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces has announced that four soldiers from the 931st Battalion of the Nachal Brigade have been lost in combat in the Gaza Strip.

The fallen soldiers are Sergeant Itay Livny, 19, from Ramat Hasharon; Sergeant Yosef Dassa, 19, from Kiryat Biyalik; Sergeant Ermiyas Mekuriyaw, 19, from Be’er Sheva; and Sergeant Daniel Levy, 19, from Kiryat Motzkin.

In the same incident in which these four brave soldiers lost their lives, an officer and another soldier from the 931st Battalion of the Nahal Brigade sustained severe injuries. Additionally, two soldiers from the 9th Battalion of the 401st Brigade were critically wounded in the southern Gaza Strip. They have been promptly evacuated to receive medical treatment, and their families have been notified.

A preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 8:30 a.m., the soldiers initiated an operation at a school in the Zeitoun neighborhood, targeting identified Hamas terrorists. While advancing towards their objective, the soldiers encountered either an explosive device on the wall of a building or entered an area rigged with multiple explosives.
