Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump doubled down on his stated refusal to accept the results of the election, telling supporters at an Ohio rally Thursday that he would only do so if he comes out on top.
“I would like to promise and pledge to all of my voters and supporters and to all of the people of the United States that I will totally accept the results of this great and historic presidential election if I win,” Trump said to a roaring crowd in the city of Delaware. Trump has for days pushed the idea of a “rigged” election in which voter fraud would prevent him from winning. He later added: “I would reserve my right to contest or file a legal challenge in the case of a questionable result.”
