Morocco bestowed its highest state award upon US President Donald Trump over his brokering a normalization accord between Rabat and Jerusalem, Reuters reports.
The agency cited a senior Trump administration official as saying that on Friday, Trump received the Order of Muhammad — the country’s highest decoration, reserved for state leaders and royalty.
In a private ceremony at the Oval Office, Trump received the honorary award Morocco’s envoy to the US, Princess Lalla Joumala Alaoui.
Jared Kushner, Trump’s senior adviser, and Avi Berkowitz, the US envoy for the Middle East, also received awards.
