“As we mark International Women’s Day, we remain committed to the worthwhile mission of enhancing women’s leadership in the world and building a stronger America for all,” Trump said in a statement.
Trump cited the administration’s work to promote female entrepreneurs, such as the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi), as well as the “2X Women’s Initiative,” which works to support women in emerging markets.
The president also referenced his signing of the Women, Peace and Security Act, which promotes women working in the conflict prevention and post-conflict peace fields. He also mentioned his administration’s work to support women in small business.
