Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday urged supporters to get their coronavirus vaccines, extolling it as a “great” and “safe” vaccine and noting that many of his followers are reluctant to be inoculated.
Asked by Fox News host Maria Bartiromo during a phone interview if he would recommend a vaccine, Trump replied, “I would, I would recommend it to a lot of people who don’t want to get it.”
Trump added that a lot of those vaccine skeptics “voted for me, frankly,” an acknowledgement of polling data that shows Republicans are far more likely to be hesitant about it.
“It’s a great vaccine, it’s a safe vaccine and it’s something that works,” Trump said.
