Today, President Donald Trump reaffirmed his assertion that several Middle Eastern nations have offered to deploy military forces into Gaza to “straighten out Hamas,” but he indicated that he has asked them to wait, saying there is still a chance for Hamas to “do what is right.”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Numerous of our NOW GREAT ALLIES in the Middle East, and areas surrounding the Middle East, have explicitly and strongly, with great enthusiasm, informed me that they would welcome the opportunity, at my request, to go into GAZA with a heavy force and ‘straighten our Hamas’ if Hamas continues to act badly, in violation of their agreement with us.”
At present, Indonesia is the only nation to have publicly stated its readiness to contribute troops to a potential UN-approved multinational force to help secure Gaza once the war ends. Meanwhile, Turkey and Azerbaijan have privately indicated their openness to such participation, according to officials cited by The Times of Israel.
The New York Times reported earlier in the day that many nations remain reluctant to send troops into Gaza, contradicting Trump’s claim. According to the report, regional leaders are worried about being forced into direct confrontations with Hamas while attempting to bring stability to the area.
Still, Trump maintained an optimistic tone, writing, “The love and spirit for the Middle East has not been seen like this in a thousand years! It is a beautiful thing to behold!”
He said he has urged restraint for now. “I told these countries, and Israel, ‘NOT YET!’ There is still hope that Hamas will do what is right,” he said.
“If they do not, an end to Hamas will be FAST, FURIOUS, & BRUTAL! I would like to thank all of those countries that called to help,” Trump added.
In closing, he offered specific appreciation to Indonesia for its cooperation. “Also, I would like to thank the great and powerful country of Indonesia, and its wonderful leader, for all of the help they have shown and given to the Middle East, and to the USA,” he wrote.
Mr. President:
I know the media is shoving microphones in your face all day. And they are asking questions so they can “predict” what is yet to happen. I suggest you let them stew in their anxiety. Stop talking about it. Just do it. You’re a busy, action-focused person. That’s one of the reasons America voted out the goilem.
The fact that there are no living hostages left in Gaza will make the next round of fighting both simpler for the IDF as well as more horrific for the people in Gaza.
If the president wants this warning to have real teeth, he might announce something along lines of “we are sending X number of Marines to Israel, the train to learn the lessons of fighting in Gaza.“
