The United Arab Emirates sentenced Fida Kiwan, a 43-year-old resident of the northern Israeli city Haifa, to death for possession of half a kilogram of cocaine in the Gulf state.
Israel’s Foreign Ministry, which said it was aware of the case, declined to identify the citizen who was reportedly sentenced by an Abu Dhabi court after being arrested on March 17 of last year.
The woman is a photography studio owner.
She was arrested a week after arriving in Dubai for work about a year ago after police found 500 grams of cocaine in the apartment in which she was staying.
She has denied that the drugs were hers, and her lawyer is expected to appeal the court’s decision.

This is the woman that just last year when a group of chayalim wanted to go eat at the restaurant she owned in chaifa, she made headlines that she refused to allow them to sit there and eat. There was an uproar; she stood her ground and her restaurant closed after a few months. Here she claims she went innocently to dubai and was handed a package unkowingly with cocaine….. Well, today the evidence came out and receipts of the purchase were found in her car and many more pieces of evidence. This is a woman that is getting her day. I don’t wish death on anyone but I’m not understanding the reason for this publicity.
