The United Kingdom has confirmed 17,337 deaths from coronavirus, but the actual numbers may be much higher, a Financial Times analysis showed.

According to the analysis, as many as 41,000 people across the UK may have died of the virus, but the official numbers include only deaths recorded in hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus.

The statistics showed that during the week ending on April 10, the number of total deaths were 75% above normal rates in both England and Wales, representing a 20-year high: During that week, 18.516 people died, compared with a five-year average of 10,520 for the same week. Similar patterns could be seen in both Scotland and Northern Ireland, the Times added.

  1. Death RATES? They could just as easily be half of what has been reported. When dealing with RATES, you need to have, not only an accurate number of deaths directly linked to COVID-19, but also an accurate accounting of people infected with the virus.

  2. Coronavirus is a broad term from all kinds of deaths, including executions and suicides. So all these death rates mean nothing. Might as well say the Malach Hamoves took them.

      • I fully condone President Trump’s method of eradicating the invisible enemy by military tribunal which has been ongoing for over a year. If they prefer suicide, so be it. In the meantime, he’s done a fantastic job wiping out thousands of the world’s invisible enemy. May he continue having lots of success and siyatta Dishmaya.
