US President Joe Biden’s administration hinted Wednesday that it could use force if diplomacy fails on Iran’s nuclear program.

As negotiations with Iran remain at a standstill, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken held three-way talks with top diplomats of Israel and the United Arab Emirates, two US allies that established relations last year.

Blinken renewed Biden’s offer to re-enter the 2015 nuclear agreement Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which imposed strict oversight on Iran’s nuclear activity in exchange for sanctions relief.

“We’re united in the proposition that Iran cannot be allowed to acquire a nuclear weapon,” Blinken told a joint news conference in Washington.

“We believe that the diplomatic path is the most effective way to ensure that that doesn’t happen,” he said.

But he said Iran has already had nine months since Biden’s election to demonstrate its commitment.

“With every passing day, and Iran’s refusal to engage in good faith, the runway gets short,” Blinken warned. “We are prepared to turn to other options if Iran doesn’t change course.”

  1. I’ll believe it when I see it. By the time “diplomacy” will be deemed to have “failed” by the Biden administration, Iran will already have a nuclear weapon ch”v. Of course anyone with a slight brain understands that when dealing with Iran and the like, diplomacy failed long before it was begun.
