Israel has reportedly made preparations for retaliatory actions against Iran but ultimately canceled them on at least two occasions within the past week, as revealed by three Israeli sources to ABC News on Wednesday.

The sources disclosed that various response strategies to the recent drone and missile assault have been deliberated within the Israeli War Cabinet. These options range from targeting Iranian proxies in neighboring regions, excluding Iranian soil, to potential cyber warfare tactics.

A senior US official informed ABC News that Israel is unlikely to execute any strikes against Iran until after the conclusion of Pesach, which commences on Monday night. However, the official cautioned that such plans could be subject to change.

Despite the postponement, Iranian authorities, particularly the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and other key figures, remain on high alert, some taking refuge in secure hideouts and underground bunkers.

Earlier reports from Axios indicated Israel’s contemplation of launching a retaliatory strike against Iran on Monday night, a decision that was ultimately deferred.

Citing insights from two Israeli officials, the report revealed that the Israeli War Cabinet entertained the idea of authorizing the Israel Defense Forces for a potential strike against Iran. However, operational considerations led to the decision to halt the operation.

Concurrently, The Wall Street Journal disclosed Iran’s readiness for a potential Israeli counterattack targeting its territory or proxies.

The report outlined Iran’s preparedness, highlighting its air force’s readiness for potential strikes and its navy’s preparation to escort Iranian commercial vessels navigating the Red Sea.
