[Video and photos below.] Beth Medrash Govoha of Lakewood’s Annual Evening of Chizuk will be held tonight, and as excitement mounts ahead of the event, the large tent where the gathering will take
place, at the corner of New Hampshire and Cedar Bridge avenues, is a hub of activity today, with arrangements being finalized and food being set up.
To construct the massive tent over the weekend, workers flew and drove to Lakewood from various cities hundreds of miles away to construct the temporary tent, which is well over 20,000 square feet in size and is actually far larger than any ballroom in the entire tri-state area.
New for this year are two smaller tents on each side of the main tent. The smaller tents will house the eating areas and will be connected to the main tent via nine-foot hallways.
Tonight’s gathering will begin at 9 p.m. The program, set to get underway at 10:10 p.m., will feature opening remarks from Dr. Rich Roberts, noted baal tzedakah in Lakewood, who will serve as chairman. Dayan Yonason Abraham, member of the Badatz of London and former talmid of Beth Medrash Govoha, will deliver divrei pesichah. The rosh yeshiva, Rav Malkiel Kotler, will then address the gathering. Rav Usher Weiss, av beis din of Beis Din Darchei Horaah and head of Mosdos Minchas Asher at Darkei HaTorah, will be the guest speaker.
The program will conclude at 11:20 p.m. sharp, immediately followed by the annual raffle.
