Warren: Sanders Said A Woman Could Not Win The White House

Sen. Elizabeth Warren said in a statement on Monday that fellow presidential hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders told her in a private meeting in 2018 that a woman could not win the White House.

“Bernie and I met for more than two hours in December 2018 to discuss the 2020 election, our past work together and our shared goals: beating Donald Trump, taking back our government from the wealthy and well-connected, and building an economy that works for everyone,” Warren said in a statement. “Among the topics that came up was what would happen if Democrats nominated a female candidate. I thought a woman could win; he disagreed.”

Sanders blasted the report, and his allies were furious, describing it as a desperate effort by Warren staffers and the mainstream media to blunt his momentum ahead of the Iowa caucuses.

“It’s sad that, three weeks before the Iowa caucus and a year after that private conversation, staff who weren’t in the room are lying about what happened. What I did say that night was that Donald Trump is a sexist, a racist and a liar who would weaponize whatever he could. Do I believe a woman can win in 2020? Of course! After all, Hillary Clinton beat Donald Trump by 3 million votes in 2016.”

  1. Worse than Fake News. Outright lie and propaganda. Hillary did not beat President Trump in the 2016 election by 3 million votes. She lost to our current President by a significant amount of electoral votes, which is the criteria by which the US Constitution, designed by the framers, the Founding Fathers, lays out as the way presidential elections are won.
Ant that is precisely why Mr. Sanders definitely said a woman won’t win the White House; the states likely needed to swing the next election are still Republican states, and the Republican candidate is not a woman.

  2. Pocahontas is still lying. She thinks she’ll win by pretending Sanders is a misogynist. The conversation probably happened in her dream and that’s why Sanders cant remember it. I hate Sanders almost as much as I hate Warren but the one thing Sanders has going for him is that he hasn’t been caught blatantly lying.

  3. Not only did Hillary not beat Trump by 3 million votes, she only got 12% from the American public who voted for her. As was reported by the NYT, Trump got 81% of the votes, the Independents combined got about 7 points, leaving Hillary 12%!

Besides, Hillary also lost the Popular votes. The only ones she won were the Dead People’s Votes for whom she’s now President.

  4. If Bernie Sanders campaigned for the Marxist party in Reagan’s time and is now a Socialist, he has no chance of winning the Presidency in the US.
