A mispallel at Scheiner’s Shul in Forshay, Monsey, couldn’t contain his excitement, showing off his pipes as he bellowed a “Ka’eileh” during Pesach Chol Hamoed‘s krias haTorah.

Meanwhile, Joey Newcomb continues to perform his brand new composition, “Things People Do in Shul – Ka’eileh,” doing so for an audience in Atlanta in the clip below:

  1. I’m not quite sure why this is getting any attention. There was nothing cute in what he did. An absolute bizoyon to do it in front of an open Sefer Torah, during Krias Hatorah no less. If this isn’t a bizoyon I can’t think of what else might be.. this person ought to be totally ashamed of himself along with the person filming him. This was done in a couple of places so obviously the guy filming is complicit in this bizoyon Sefer Torah along with the “cantor”…

  2. I’m all for a normal ka’ayle . It’s a hanhaga in all kraizen except for the few litvish, yeshivish, yekke communities. But this is ridiculous and laitzanus.

  3. I give this guy a lot of credit for his patience. Think about it. He had to wait the entire davening, thru pesukei dizimrah, krias shema, shmonei esrei, Hallel, first 3 1/2 aliyos of krias hatorah, until he was finally able to do his performance! There is something we can all learn from this. Savlanus. A tremendous midda to have.
