WikiLeaks: US Spied on Japan, Mitsubishi

nsaWikiLeaks released new documents on Friday claiming the National Security Agency spied on Japanese cabinet officials, banks, and major companies, including Mitsubishi, for at least eight years.

The “Target Tokyo” documents reportedly reveal that the NSA was intercepting phone calls at government ministries and offices on issues including trade talks, climate-change plans, and nuclear and energy policy. The report lists 35 numbers the NSA allegedly targeted.

The NSA also allegedly spied on Bank of Japan officials as well as the fossil-fuel departments at Mitsubishi and Matsui. Read more at WikiLeaks.
