Yaakov Yosef Greenwald, one of the “Japan trio,” is a chosson, engaged to a daughter of one of the askonim who helped in the efforts to secure his release.
Back in January, after a painfully long four and a half years, Yaakov Yosef – known to m any around the world simply as “Yaakov Yosef ben Raizel” – was transferred to Eretz Yisroel after serving 1,734 days, most of which were spent in isolation, in Chiba, Japan. He was reunited with his family in their hometown of Bnei Brak.
The kallah is a daughter of Reb Yehudah Yacov of Bnei Brak.
According to reports, the shidduch was made by Rav Weiss, the Satmar dayan in Antwerp who was also very involved in helping the 3 bochurim in Japan.
May the chosson and kallah merit to walk down to the chupah b’shaah tovah umetzlachas and build a bayis neeman b’Yisroel.
