Yiddish Artifacts Recovered From Holocaust Displayed At YIVO Institute

A treasure trove of Yiddish artifacts thought to have been destroyed in the Holocaust — including letters from “Fiddler on the Roof’’ author Sholem Aleichem, a postcard from artist Marc Chagall and scores of plays, poems and novels — has been recovered, and some of the items are now on display in Manhattan.

The 170,000 documents from Lithuania were secretly saved and then quietly stored for decades, the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research said Tuesday. Read more at NY POST.
