Alabama Guv Removes Confederate Flag


Alabama Gov. Robert BentleyAlabama Gov. Robert Bentley ordered the immedate removal of a Confederate flag from his state’s Capitol grounds Wednesday morning. “

Two workers came out of the Capitol building about 8:20 a.m. and with no fanfare quickly and quietly took the flag down,” The Birmingham News reports. “Moments later, Gov. Bentley emerged from the Capitol on his way to an appearance in Hackleburg. Asked if he had ordered the flag taken down, the governor said, ‘Yes I did.’” Read more at The Birmingham News.

    It is about time that very official responsible for maintaining symbols of hate, racism, and treason “cave” and remove those symbols.

    What would you think were it a Nazi swastika flag? You do know that Confederate battle flags have the same meaning to African Americans as Nazi symbols have to us, don’t you? Or have you been living in a cave for 75 years?
