[Video below.] Two weeks ago, Yeshiva Torah Vodaas held a parlor meeting in Lakewood, NJ. The rosh yeshiva, Rav Yisroel Belsky, was invited to address a question-and-answer session at Beth Medrash Govoha for one of the largest chaburos learning hilchos Shabbos led by Rabbi Landinsky. The Bais Medrash Ateres Bracha of the yeshiva filled to capacity to hear the words of Rav Belsky. The shiur lasted for 1 hour and twenty minutes.Rabbi Landinsky posed many questions on practical hilchos Shabbos, such as on amirah l’akum, opening up cans, reading newspapers, and scraping ices. Rav Belsky impressed the bnei Torah with his wide range of knowledge and his practical and sensible approach to each shailah. Rav Belsky concluded the shiur by remarking the wonderful feeling he has to be surrounded by so many bnei Torah who wish to know the depths of learning practical halacha.
