Archaeologists say they believe they have found the remains of the Santa Maria, Christopher Columbus’ famous ship. More than five centuries after the ship was abandoned in the Caribbean, a team said they have tentatively identified its remains in the bottom of the sea off the north coast of Haiti.
Barry Clifford, the leader of the team, said “all the geographical, underwater topography, and archaeological evidence strongly suggests that this wreck is Columbus’s famous flagship, the Santa Maria.”
Columbus sailed the Santa Maria from Spain’s Atlantic coast in 1492 with the intention of exploring Asia, but, as we well know today, didn’t quite make it there. Read more at The Independent.

Can we get these guys to find the Malaysia plane??
Maybe its my boat.
There is no way to prove that this is the Santa Maria.
Thanx for the picture. I didn’t know they had cameras so far back.
I hope they’ll at least find the missing Malaysian plane.
Wow! We’ve come a long way! NOT!!
YAY! They have found a ship that was lost for more than 500 years and held about 40 people aboard. However, in todays modern day and age, they still cannot find Malaysia flight 370, a plane that was probably 3-4 times the size of that ship and held 239 people. Glad they’re out looking for 500 year old boats instead of trying to find the plane and comfort those who lost family members 2 months ago. Guess we’ll have to wait at least another 500 years till they find that plane. How sad…
Columbus discovered america and now america discovered columbus!what comes around goes
what comes around goes around!
