Lawyer: Christie Knew About Bridgegate

david-wildsteinDavid Wildstein, a former top official at the Port Authority, pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy regarding the Bridgegate scandal on Friday morning. His attorney, Alan Zegas, says Wildstein is prepared to testify in the case, including saying that Gov. Chris Christie “knew of the lane closures as they occurred.”

Zegas added that Wildstein “deeply regrets” what he did.

The charges follow a lengthy grand jury investigation into lane closures of the George Washington Bridge to punish Fort Lee, New Jersey’s Democratic mayor for not endoring Christie. The governor denied on Twitter that he knew of the lane closures. Read more.
