O’Reilly: “I Am More Powerful Than Anybody Other Than The President”

bill_oreillyFox News presenter Bill O’Reilly has claimed that he has more power than anyone but Barack Obama. The news anchor made the extraordinary declaration while promoting his new book about the Lincoln assassination.

He told Newsweek interviewer Peter Boyer: ‘I have more power than anybody other than the president, in the sense that I can get things changed, quickly.’

‘I don’t have to go through the legislative process; I don’t have to do any of that. I can just bring it to the people, and say, look, this has gotta be dealt with.’

The leading cable news host has a history of making grand statements. He predicted that his Super Bowl interview with President Obama would be the most watched in ‘the history of mankind’.

And he later portrayed himself as a key negotiator in the debt ceiling crisis.

Despite coming close to challenging the president’s power, O’Reilly says he ‘likes’ Obama personally.

He also told Newsweek he warned conservative radio host Glenn Beck not to turn into fictional evangelist ‘Elmer Gantry’ when the two went on tour together.

O’Reilly’s latest declaration is actually a step back from a statement he made in 2010, where he said that he had ‘more power doing what I’m doing’ than he would as president.’
