Pervez Musharraf on House Arrest


pakistan-pervez-musharrafFormer Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf was arrested and put under house arrest Thursday for his alleged involvement in the 2007 dismissal of several senior judges, one of whom was the chief justice of Pakistan’s Supreme Court.

Musharraf will stay at his farmhouse, with police security, for two days before being brought to anti-terrorism court. Musharraf looks forward to proving his innocence at trial.

“These allegations are politically motivated, and I will fight them in the trial court, where the truth will prevail,” he said.Read more here.
