It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rav Bentzion Kalmarsky zt”l, otherwise known as “Rav Bentzion Hamagid.” At approximately 5:30 a.m., Rav Bentzion passed away following a prolonged illness.
Rav Bentzion, a grandson of the renowned maggid, Rav Bentzion Yadler zt”l, followed his zaida‘s path in utilizing his oratory skills to inspire and uplift people. Through classes, programs and his speeches on the radio, Rav Bentzion impacted countless individuals. Despite yissurim and various ailments that he suffered from, Rav Bentzion displayed great emunah and bitachon, imparting feelings of chizuk and strength to those who came to him.
Rav Bentzion’s condition had worsened in recent days and many Yidden davened for Rav Bentzion ben Miriam, but he succumbed to his illness.
Rav Bentzion was just 42.
He is survived by his wife and children, including a number of youngsters, and siblings. Rav Bentzion, who hails from a Vizhnitzer mishpacha, resided in Modiin Illit.
The levaya will leave from his home on Rechov Rav Yehudah Hanosi in Achuzas Brachfeld at 2 p.m., and will head to Shamgar in Yerushalayim, and then to Har Hamenuchos for kevurah.
