The Sokolover-Kotzker Rebbe, Rav Mendel Meir Morgenstern, zt”l


the-sokolover-kotzk-rebbe-harav-mendel-meir-morgensternIt is with great sadness that we report the passing of the Sokolover-Kotzker Rebbe, Rav Mendel Meir Morgenstern zt”l, who passed away in Bnei Brak at the age of 92.

The Rebbe was a son of Rav Moshe Dovid and a descendant of Rav Menachem Mendel, the legendary Kotzker Rebbe.

Rav Meir Mordechai learned in Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin and later fled  during the war, wandering from country to country for years, traveling through Poland, to Lithuania and from there to Japan, Vilna, and Shanghai. Upon arriving in Eretz Yisroel, he married his wife, a daughter of Rav Moshe Ludmir

The levaya was held at his bais medrash in Bnei Brak. Kevurah took place at the Kiryat Shaul bais hachaim in Tel Aviv.

  2. If I am not mistaken the Rebbe zt”l Rav Mendel Meir, was one of the biggest esrog sochrim in Eretz Yisroel and the world.
    He retired from the business not too long ago.
