Security agents found 67 firearms during the week leading up to Sept. 17, of which 56 were loaded and 26 had a round in the chamber. The number of firearms topped a previous record of 65 firearms found during a week in May 2013, TSA officials said.
For the week ended Sept. 24, TSA agents found 64 firearms in carry-on bags. Of those weapons, 55 were loaded and 22 had a round in the chamber.
