rav-bentzion-shafier[Video below.] Rav Bentzion Shafier of The Shmuz says that the source to our emunah problems today is that we feel the need to play G-d. “I know exactly what I need, what type of job I need, what type of school I need and what type of shidduch is good for me.” That is the prevailing attitude.

We speak it out, says Rabbi Shafier, but for some reason, G-d doesn’t cooperate, kevayachol.

If we study our problems, most emunah issues can be traced to this attitude. See the video below for Rabbi Shafier’s message and then comment below.

Rav Shafier has impacted thousands of people with his talks and lectures, and especially with his innovative “Shmuz,” a mussar shmuess that draws on Torah, Gemara and the meforshim, but also brings in lessons from science, history and inspiring life stories of famous and not-so-famous individuals. Rabbi Shafier’s weekly video on the parsha is posted every Friday here on Matzav.com.
