New York City launched a public service announcement today over what to do after a nuclear weapon incident, despite the low likelihood of such a catastrophic event occurring in America’s largest city. The 1.5-minute PSA outlines three steps New Yorkers can take to mitigate the threats of nuclear exposure.

“While the likelihood of a nuclear weapon incident occurring in/near New York City is very low, it is important New Yorkers know the steps to stay safe,” the city’s Emergency Management Department said in a news release. “The new PSA encourages New Yorkers to take key, simple steps in the event of such an incident.” Fox News

  1. Going back to the early 1950’s when students in pre-school and elementary grades used to practice hiding under the desk in case of a nuclear attack ad they had to all wear dog tags with identifying information just inc case. You have to be over 70 year sold to recall this.

  2. ASSUMING YOU’LL FIND CLEAN WATER, SOAP AND SHAMPOOO AND YOUR CELL PHONE WILL STILL WORK.
And who were the wise people that thought of this sage advice? The same people that are afraid to walk outside without a mask?

  3. I’m younger than 70, and I remember the hallway drills twice a year.

    1. Line up double file in front of the lockers, away from any glass.
    2. Sit down cross-legged, bend your head into your lap, and cover your head with your hands.
    3. If you’re old enough to remember this, you also remember what #3 was.
