After a month of not leaving his house and after a long period of hospitalization, Rav Yitzchok Hacker, rosh yeshiva of the Grodno Yeshiva in Be’er Yaakov, went to his to participate in the start of the zeman.

There was great excitement among the bochurim as Rav Hacker, a member of the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah, who had been absent from the yeshiva for a long time, entered the bais medrash.

The yeshiva is celebrating its twentieth year in its current location.

In Rav Hacker’s presence, his fellow rosh yeshiva, Rav Zvi Drebkin, delivered the pesicha.

After Tisha B’Av, Rav Hacker was released from Maayanei Hayeshua Hospital following a long hospitalization in the intensive care unit. The 81-year-old rosh yeshiva had been crossing a street in Bnei Brak when he slipped and fell, fracturing his hip.

Rav Hacker is a son-in-law of the rosh yeshiva of Ponovezh Yeshiva, Rav Shmuel Rozovsky zt”l, and has served for four decades as rosh yeshiva at the Grodno Yeshiva, first in Ashdod and today in Be’er Yaakov.
