If you’re planning to study in Israel, there are a few things you need to know before you go. The first step is choosing an institution. You should consider the costs of living and on-campus housing. Next, you should know about Hillel and Mechina. You should also participate in local events and discussions to learn more about the local culture.

Costs of living

Depending on your lifestyle and budget, the costs of living in Israel can vary greatly. The cost of a private apartment in Tel Aviv may range from 700 EUR to over 1,400 EUR per month. The cost of utilities will also be a large part of your monthly budget. Depending on your city, internet service can cost anywhere from USD 25 to over 200 per month. You’ll also need to pay for a monthly public transportation pass, which can run around 50 EUR. In addition, taxis will run you around 3 EUR per kilometer. Tr trains are the best option if you plan to travel outside of Tel Aviv.

By following some innovative money management practices, you can easily cut costs. For example, you can save money on utilities by drinking tap water instead of bottled.

Accommodation is another high cost to consider. There are many options available to students in Israel, so it’s essential to choose the one that is most affordable for you. Many institutions offer on-campus housing, which is cheaper than renting an apartment in the area and typically includes all bills.

On-campus housing

Several different types of housing are available for international students in Israel. Before choosing an accommodation option, deciding on the type of accommodation that suits you best is essential.

On-campus housing is an essential aspect of student life in Israel. Tel Aviv University has built its student city, Millie Phillips, a fantastic example of university-owned housing.

On-campus housing is often much cheaper than renting an apartment in the area, and you won’t have to worry about paying utilities. Additionally, the buildings are usually equipped with kitchens, laundry facilities, and wireless internet. You can also find supermarkets and cafes on-campus and kosher restaurants. Another advantage of choosing On-campus housing as a place to live is that you can meet many young, talented and ambitious young people there, ranging from programmers to freelancers who work in paper writing services with whom you can make friends.

Other institutions offer student apartments. These are some of the cheapest options in the town, though students should be prepared to share communal facilities.

If communal living is not your style, you can also look for apartments for rent in one of Tel Aviv’s top neighborhoods.

Hillel

Students studying in Israel can find many ways to get involved in student life through Hillel, the student organization at American Universities in Israel. The program allows students to volunteer in the community and promotes students’ positive image of Israel. The organization also organizes opportunities for students to be involved on the political level. Students can also use the program to learn more about Jewish life and learn personal leadership skills.

Hillel’s mission is to provide every student with an opportunity to engage in Jewish life. It aims to help students articulate the significance of Israel in their personal identities and how it continues to shape Jewish peoplehood and conversations around the world.

Mechina

Mechina, or student life in Israel, is an educational program that prepares high school graduates to join the IDF or pursue citizenship. The program of studies includes topics such as Jewish thought and outlook, leadership, and volunteer service. Students are also taught Judaism and ethics. Mechina programs are located throughout Israel.

Mechina programs typically last one academic year. The course of study includes two semesters of Hebrew language studies and a summer ulpan. Some universities require machine completion before students can enroll in regular classes. Others only accept students from their Mechina programs. Alternatively, some universities offer pre-academic courses aimed at students with equivalent high school enrollment or candidates for Masters’s study. These programs generally last one or two semesters and prepare students for regular university courses.

Mechina programs in Israel are designed to provide students with meaningful experiences and a deeper connection to the country. They bring together Jewish youth from around the world with Israeli peers to develop global Jewish leadership. Students can experience Israeli culture on a local level and volunteer with local organizations. They also take courses, complete community service, and become more independent.

We wish you to have a fantastic and unforgettable students life in Israel!
