Asher Chazut, Israeli Boy Struck By Lightning, Passes Away

Asher Chazut z”l, who was struck by lightning while staying with his family at the Zikim Beach in Southern Israel, has passed away at the Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon. He was 14 years old.

The levaya will be held tonight at 8 p.m. at the Be’er Sheva Bais Hachaim.

Asher’s sister-in-law, Efrat (21), is still in serious condition in the ICU.

On the recommendation of rabbonim, the name Chaim had been added as a zechus for Asher’s recovery.

A brother, Elchonon Chazut, was also struck by lightning at the Zikim Beach.

On Tuesday, just before 2 p.m., during a lightning storm, five members of Chazut family from Be’er Sheva were injured on the beach.
