A terrible tragedy has struck the frum community in Antwerp, as two sisters who crossed a road in the city’s Jewish quarter today were killed by a truck.
The accident occurred in the morning when a truck turned onto Lange La’am Street in the city, a street on which a number of shuls and Jewish shops are located, and crashed into the two girls who were riding scooters.
The sisters, ages one and a half and 9, came from a family of six who are members of the Gerer kehillah in Antwerp.
Police and medical forces arrived at the scene, closing the streets near the scene of the accident. Hatzolah paramedics were forced to announce the girls’ deaths on the spot.
The truck is still at the scene, and police have begun investigating the circumstances of the incident.

The mother was seeing them off to day camp .she was there and the kid was giving her sister a ride…she was 18 months…
