Shmuel Rabinowitz is being accompanied by a group of volunteers to be reunited with his family.
He is boruch Hashem safe and sound.
Shmuel first communicated with his family by cell phone and was then located.
Shmuel, a bochur from Montreal, Canada, was taking part in a Pioneer Camp in Vermont when he went missing on Wednesday evening. He was hiking with a large group of friends on the Appalachian Trail when he disappeared Wednesday night near the Cooper Lodge, police said.
Officials say that late Thursday afternoon, Shmuel found his way to a shelter where he met up with other hikers and borrowed a cell phone.
Multiple search and rescue crews such as Chaverim from Montreal and Rockland County joined the State Police to work the trails in the area looking for Shmuel today.
