Republican presidential hopeful Chris Christie launched a scathing personal assault on former President Donald Trump and his family, describing his one-time ally as “a bad person” and drawing a comparison between Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and Hunter Biden, in an exclusive interview with The New York Post.
“Clearly trading on the influence of a member of your family is the one area where it seems like there are some similarities,” said Christie, the former governor of New Jersey.
Christie, who had previously served as the U.S. Attorney in New Jersey and led an investigation that resulted in Charles Kushner, Jared’s father, spending time in federal prison, recounted the strained relationship between Kushner and himself, even as both became influential advisors to Trump.
“He tried to make it as awkward as he could. He just wanted to criticize me for my prosecution of his father in front of his father-in-law,” Christie recalled.
According to Christie, Kushner and his wife Ivanka Trump consistently sought to undermine him “on an everyday basis,” with Kushner wielding significant influence in the White House.
“Jared was the chief of staff for all four years. Regardless of who had the title, Jared was the chief of staff,” Christie asserted, dismissing the four individuals who officially held the post during Trump’s presidency.
When asked if he thought Trump was a good person, Christie told The Post “no.” When asked if he would want his son to grow up to be like Trump, Christie said “no.”
In his second attempt at securing the presidency, Christie has adopted a similar approach to his politically incorrect and unyielding 2016 primary campaign, a strategy in which Trump ultimately outmaneuvered him.
While other Republican contenders have handled their criticism of the former president delicately, Christie has chosen to confront Trump head-on, labeling him as a “lonely self-consumed, self-serving, mirror hog” during his campaign launch and criticizing the Trump family’s “grift.”
Reflecting on his past criticisms of Trump, Christie sees it as a return to the 2016 campaign when he frequently attacked the billionaire before ultimately dropping out of the race and providing him with a crucial endorsement before Super Tuesday. He later served as the chairman of Trump’s transition team.
While he expressed no regrets about his previous endorsement, Christie firmly stated that he would not support Trump or any other candidate if Trump were to become the nominee in 2024. In that case, he claimed he would simply abstain from voting.

Christie should support him. He is maybe the republican nominee.
It’s tme for Governor Krispy Kreme realizes that he is hated MORE than he hates President Trump.
He says if Trump is the nominee, he won’t vote (big deal). I’m here to tell you, Krispy Kreme is the nominee, millions won’t vote.
Pot kettle whatever
Are u kidding? After all this and u are willing to strengthen the evil liberals how sick
There are many more who wouldn’t vote if Christie is the nominee.
what a nut !!!!!!!!!!
Okay. So at least vote for me.
Christie is a moron, and he states it clearly here. If Trump is the nominee, any conservative who cares about the US would vote for him, just to increase the odds that a Democrat won’t be president. But Christie, the big oaf, is much smarter than everyone else, I guess…
He should write in someone as a protest candidate. If Trump wins the nomination I’ll write in whoever I voted for in the Republican primary
You didn’t vote for Romney either, hypocrite.
Hey Chris, You’re so full of yourself nobody needs your vote.
If Trump mocked him it means he’s not around anymore.
