The Federal Highway Administration on Monday gave its final approval for New York City’s congestion pricing plan—which would charge drivers to enter midtown Manhattan in an attempt to reduce both traffic and pollution.
The approval marks the plan’s final federal hurdle, and means the system will almost surely go into effect as soon as next year, according to The New York Times.
It’s unclear how much the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) toll to enter Manhattan south of 60th Street might be, but some estimates released by the agency ran as high as $23 during rush hour and $17 during non-peak hours. Read more at The New York Times.

Upon learning that New York City will soon charge drivers to enter midtown Manhattan, one NYC resident told reporters: “I’ve always asserted unequivocally that, ‘I wouldn’t go to Manhattan even if you paid me’, and now these knuckleheads think I’m going to pay THEM to cross into Manhattan?! Crazy!”
Hey New York, don’t you see what the leftists are doing to you?!? They claim that this money will go to fund the Transit system. So wait a minute. Blacks can jump the turnstile without paying, nobody dares stop them, and then the dumb stupid middle class white male has to pay for the losses by being forced to pay this reparation/congestive pricing tax.
