Lomdei Daf Hayomi worldwide are beginning Maseches Bechoros today, having wrapped up Maseches Chullin yesterday. The learners of Daf Yomi are making their way ever closer to the next Siyum Hashas, which will take place, iy”H, on August 1, 2012, just a few days after Tisha B’Av.
With 2,711 pages in the Gemara, one cycle of Daf Yomi takes about 7 years, 5 months.
Daf Yomi started its current, 12th cycle on March 2, 2005.
Maseches Bechoros is the fourth mesechta in Seder Kodshim.
As first reported here on Matzav.com, several weeks ago, askanim and community leaders gathered at MetLife Stadium in Rutherford, New Jersey, to sign the contract for the 12th Siyum Hashas of Daf Yomi to be held at the stadium on Wednesday, 13 Av, 5772/August 1, 2012, this summer. The contract was signed by representatives of Agudas Yisroel of America and MetLife stadium CEO Mark Lamping.
With 92,000 seats, the recently constructed stadium is by far the largest single venue ever to host the national Torah gathering.
The chairman of the Siyum Hashas will be Mr. Elly Kleinman.
Agudath Israel executive vice president for finance and administration Rabbi Shlomo Gertzulin, together with a committee of dedicated baalei batim, is overseeing the Siyum preparations

Lets say it rains
#2
Then you get wet! are all the rain worriers back again? Go back to your daf & dont forget your umbrella.
“Lets say it rains”
And if it does, so what? Are we going to be deterred by a few drops of water?
@#2 They’ll be selling Shayna coats outside.
If it rains by a Giants Jets game nobody leaves,
For a minute there, it looked like people only make siyumim in the greater New York area.
Attention Alleh “Worried” Menshin!
They booked an alternative “rain-date” too! Let’s make it the biggest attended gathering in the place! To date, their largest crowd was 83,000+. If we Yidden could bring in 92,000 people for K’vod Shomayim, the Kiddush HaShem will be absolutely amazing!
How do I get tickets? I remember seeing an ad but I don’t remember who it said to call…
