U.S. Attorney Damian Williams on Tuesday unveiled eight indictments against Democratic megadonor Sam Bankman-Fried, accusing the former CEO of crypto exchange FTX of running “one of the biggest financial frauds in American history,” the Washington Free Beacon reports.
“By anyone’s lights, this is one of the biggest financial frauds in American history,” Williams said after detailing how Bankman-Fried allegedly stole customers’ money, committed fraud against investors and lenders, and violated campaign finance laws.
Williams hinted that more charges might come for Bankman-Fried, who was the Democratic Party’s second-biggest donor in the 2022 midterm elections.
People are presumed innocent until proven guilty, and this case isn’t so open and shut. You don’t have to prematurely label him a crypto crook. (In general, the labels feel like a page from Trump’s book, and he’s the last source we should be taking any personal conduct lessons from.) We’re better than that.
But yet they will never allow Bankman to appear before Congress. They don’t want you, the stupid taxpayer, to find out all the democrat candidates he supported including Kristen Gillabrand of NY.
