Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu during an interview with Army Radio, accusing the incumbent leader of prioritizing his public image over the safety of hostages held by terrorist groups in Gaza since October 7.

According to Barak, Netanyahu’s eagerness to appear strong outweighs his commitment to securing a resolution, even if it means jeopardizing the lives of the captives. During the radio interview, Barak asserted, “It’s more important to Netanyahu to look strong than to get a deal; he’s willing to risk the hostages’ lives.”

These remarks surface amidst speculation that a potential breakthrough in negotiations for the release of hostages held by Hamas may be on the horizon following the return of an Israeli delegation comprising top security officials from talks held in Paris the previous day.

Barak not only criticized Netanyahu’s handling of the hostage situation but also called for widespread public dissent against the government. He urgeed citizens to mobilize in protest, citing recent clashes between demonstrators and law enforcement officers at an anti-Netanyahu rally in Tel Aviv.

In his rallying cry, Barak advocated for a significant showing of civil disobedience, proposing, “We need 30,000 citizens circling the Knesset in tents for three weeks, day and night. When the country is shut down, Netanyahu will realize that his time is up and that there is no trust in him.”

  1. Well Mr Barak risked the lives of the entire country to make himself look good in the eyes of the world when he agreed to give away 98% Yehuda and Shomron.
If not for a miracle that they refused, he would have happily risked the lives of all the yidden!
