A scandal involving the German BND intelligence agency’s cooperation with the NSA has led to a halt to the program, and may even threaten the stability of Angela Merkel’s coalition government.

A poll showed more than 60 percent of Germans are troubled by allegations that the BND helped the U.S. spy on European officials and agencies.

The agency reportedly stopped funneling information to the U.S. this week, because the U.S. did not want to provide case-by-case justification. Read more.
