The Israeli Minister of Construction and Housing, Yitzchok Goldknopf, penned a letter to Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu seeking clarification on the National Security Council’s (NSC) opposition to MK Yulia Malinovsky’s proposed bill to label UNRWA as a terrorist entity.
Goldknopf highlighted, “We have uncovered evidence indicating the involvement of the terrorist entity UNRWA, its staff, and affiliates in the events of the October 7th massacre. Throughout the conflict, it became evident that UNRWA actively supported Hamas, offering both technological infrastructure and shelter in areas under its control.”
“As the head of the Israel Land’s Authority (ILA), I have instructed the ILA’s CEO to initiate procedures to remove UNRWA from Israeli territory,” Goldknopf added.
Moreover, Goldknopf expressed dismay, stating, “Approximately two weeks ago, MK Boaz Bismuth presented a bill for consideration by the Ministerial Committee on Legislative Affairs, aiming to officially designate UNRWA as a terrorist organization. Regrettably, the NSC, under the Prime Minister’s authority, requested a delay and voiced opposition. Today, during the committee session, we faced a similar scenario where the NSC objected and sought another postponement.”
“Given Israel’s possession of incontrovertible evidence implicating UNRWA in the massacre, hostage-taking, and provision of support to Hamas, there appears to be no rationale for further delay. I urge your intervention to advance the legislative process,” Goldknopf concluded.
