At least half the mail-in ballots requested in the battleground state of Pennsylvania for the Nov. 3 elections have already been cast, and Democrats are outpacing Republicans by a wide margin, according to Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar.
“It’s almost exactly the total number of Pennsylvanians who voted by mail in the [June] primary, and we still have 11 days ago,” Boockvar told Philadelphia ABC affiliate WPVI.
Just under 1.5 million people have cast mail-in or absentee ballots, Boockvar, a Democrat, said. Republicans have returned 293,318 ballots, while Democrats have sent back a little over 1 million ballots. Voters who do not have a party affiliation listed have returned 132,680 ballots.
