A study of 1,000 iPhone owners and 1,000 Android owners found that whether you prefer an iPhone or Android may say a lot about your personality — and even your spending habits.

The survey, by Slickdeals, pitted the cellphone giants against each other and found iPhone users will shell out $117 on average every month on clothes — nearly double what an Android user will spend ($62). iPhone users are also taking 12 selfies every day, which is five more than Android users take.

iPhone users were also found to be happier with their current job than Android users, with only 20 percent of Android users saying they were very happy with their job, compared to 33 percent of iPhone users. iPhone users will spend five whole hours a day, or 76 full days a year, looking at their phone in some capacity.

  1. Stupid article! 90% of Android users are buying a less than $100 Android, because they are looking for a cheap phone, with basic functionality, not because they are “SmartPhone” users. They just happen to buy an Android. The article should be comparing high priced Android users, with iPhones, and I believe the differences will be different (pardon the pun).
