i24 News – Knesset member Yaakov Litzman of the Yahadut Hatorah party handed in his resignation letter to Knesset speaker Mickey Levy today as part of a plea agreement.

“I conclude with great satisfaction many years of activity in the Knesset, out of gratitude to the Creator who gave me the privilege to serve the public with dedication and loyalty, out of aspiration and duty to sanctify the name of Hashem and safeguard the things that are holy for Israel,” Litzman said.

During his final speech on the Knesset floor, he noted that he plans to stay in politics.

“I am staying for a few things in which I can help,” Litzman, 73, added, without elaborating.

He wished his replacement, Rabbi Yaakov Tessler, good luck.

According to the plea deal, Litzman will plead guilty to breach of trust, will be fined roughly $900 and given a suspended sentence. “This Knesset is not what’s supposed to be, and you all know this,” he said, while expressing hope for change.

Litzman said, “I merited to deal with 615,000 requests from the public over the course of all my years here, and that is the basis of the public service in the Knesset. I thought I would merit to vote on the bill to dissolve the Knesset, but unfortunately that did not work. I will remain in politics and I will help with whatever necessary.”

  1. I lost my respect for Litzman since he fired 2 doctors who told parents the truth about the mmr vax. All Health Ministers cannot be trusted after their implementing the lethal covid vax.

    • Littman was right to fire any quack doctor who spouted such a lie. Billions of doses given worldwide, millions of lives saved, and still no long term side effects.
